This was the idea I was wanting to use for the ceremony, but we ended up just using the normal set up.

My Ceremony =)  I cut and pasted from several of the samples sent to me from other knotties.

Minister:  Josh and Ashley we have come together in the presence of God and these witnesses to honor your love and commitment to one another and to support your decision to become lifetime partners in holy marriage.

Vow of intention:  Do you Josh, take Ashley to be your wife?  Do you promise to love her, honor her, cherish and protect her, and forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you live?

  Groom:  I do

Vow of intention:  Do you Ashley, take Josh to be your husband?  Do you promise to love her, honor her, cherish and protect her, and forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you live?

  Bride:  I do

Minister:  Marriage deepens and enriches every facet of life.  Happiness is fuller, memories are fresher, and commitment is stronger. Even anger is felt more strongly, but passes away more quickly.  Marriage understands and forgives the mistakes life is unable to avoid.  It encourages and nurtures new life, new experiences, and new ways of expressing love through the seasons of life.  When two people pledge to love and care for each other in marriage, they create a spirit unique to themselves, which binds them closer together than any spoken or written words.  Marriage is a promise, a potential, made in the hearts of two people who love, which takes a lifetime to fulfill.

Minister:  St Paul writes – “Love is patient love is kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude.  Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrong, but rejoices in the right.  Love bears all things, endures all things.  Love never ends.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)

  Exchange of vows:

Minister: Josh and Ashley the vows you are about to exchange will join your lives.  You both bring individual strengths and weaknesses to this marriage, and as you stand together today, may you compliment each other and fulfill each other’s needs as your love and commitment continue to deepen throughout your married life.

Groom:  Ashley, I take you from this day forward as my wife, partner and best friend.  I promise to take you to my heart – as you are and as you will be.  I promise – to walk by your side forever – to grow together with you – and to be more in love with you than I am today.  I promise – to support your dreams - and to be there for you for the rest of my life.

Bride:  Josh, I take you from this day forward as my wife, partner and best friend.  I promise to take you to my heart – as you are and as you will be.  I promise – to walk by your side forever – to grow together with you – and to be more in love with you than I am today.  I promise – to support your dreams - and to be there for you for the rest of my life.

  Blessing of the rings:

During this ceremony Josh and Ashley will exchange rings.  These rings are a visible sign of their commitment to one another.  As the rings are passed, we invite family and friends to take part in the blessing of the rings.  We ask that you with them health and happiness, and all that is noble in life.  I ask each guest to hold them for a moment, bless them with your love and make a silent wish for this couple, and their future together.  When the rings come back they will contain, in their precious metal, that which is more precious, that which is priceless, your love and support for their union.

  Exchange of rings:

Minister:
By this sign you take each other, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or worse; for richer or poorer; in sickness and in health; to love and to cherish, for as long as you both shall live.

Sand Ceremony:

Minister:
Josh and Ashley, may your love always be as constant as the never ending waves.  Flowing endlessly from the depths of the sea as the waters touch and nourish the many shores of the earth, may your love be as moving as the sea between the shores of your souls.  Just as there will never be a morning without the oceans flow, there will never be a day without your love for each other.  You have just sealed you relationship by the giving and receiving of rings, this beautiful union is symbolized through the combining of these two individual jars of sand.
The first jar represents you, Ashley, in all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be.
The other jar represents you, Josh, in all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be.
Each one holds its own unique beauty, strength, and character.  They can stand on their own and be whole, without the need of anything else.  However, when these two are blended together, they create an entirely new and extraordinarily more intricate entity.  Each grain of sand brings to the mixture a lasting beauty that forever enriches the combination.  When you pour the sands into this common container, it symbolizes the union of your two lives.  Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual jars, so will your marriage be a molding of two individual personalities, bonded together, forming one heart, one love.  The life that each of you experienced now individually, will hereafter be inseparably united.  For the two shall become one.

  Prayer:

 Minister: Lord God,

Let us give thanks for the moment that brings Ashley and Josh together in marriage.

We recognize with gratitude, the journeys that have brought them to this time,

and we celebrate with them the hopes that they hold for their future life together.

We ask your blessing upon them, to sustain them through the difficult and uncertain times

that come to every relationship.

We pray the they may continue to find in each other, resources the will nurture their marriage.

May they continue to grow together and may their love for each other, deepen with the passing years.

Amen

  Signing of the register:

  Declaration of Marriage:

Minister:  Josh and Ashley you have just given your hearts completely to one another.  From this day forward, your lives are intertwined and nothing will ever separate you.  So having witnessed the vows you have made to each other by the joining of hands, and the giving and receiving of rings, and by virtue of the authority vested in me by the laws of the Cayman Islands and in the name of God our Creator.

I now pronounce you husband and wife.

Please share your first kiss as husband and wife.

Minister:  Ladies and Gentlemen:  It is with great pleasure I present for the first time Mr. and Mrs.

(song: We Have All The Time In The World will play after kiss)

Ring Clam!

I believe the original owner of this clam was Cristina (Dreamsbride).  She then passed it to another knottie (Blinky). I believe after that it went to Tracy (Siba) and then I loaned it to Shelli!  Who knows where it will end up next =)
